Welcome and Introductions

8:30 - 10:00

Part 1. What would you do with $14 Million Dollars?

  • Convergence of audiences.
  • Convergence of marketing and sales.
  • What are you selling?
  • You used to sell a product, a service. But everyone has products and services now.
  • So I repeat, what are you selling?

This first part will discuss what’s at stake in creating impressions. You need impressions to start the ball rolling, but spending money just to create impressions is wasted if you don’t know who you are impressing or you can’t turn one of those impressions into a sale (or prove you did). That’s been the battle since Wanamaker said half his money spent on advertising was wasted, only he didn’t know which half. Unfortunately, most of the time that’s still true.

Are you aware of triggers of opportunity?

  • Who do you compete with today? (open discussion)
  • You should be looking for triggers of opportunity, or situations (client problems usually) where a door will open for you.
  • Examples.

Sometimes transitions happen suddenly. Other times they evolve over time, with clues being scattered in front of you like breadcrumbs. The key is to pay attention, and then be agile enough to move quickly, neatly and efficiently. In this part, Jim will focus on being aware of these triggers, and how to take advantage of them when they happen.

Part 2. The website is the center of the experience.

A company’s website holds the opportunity for success or failure in any marketing venture. All roads should lead to your website. This second part will explore your website’s importance, but also cover selling techniques around the website.

  • Define who you are aiming at.
  • Find and define your Value.
  • Turn that Value into Differentiation.
  • Using Differentiation for your website to delight the customer.

– Quality designs
– Image is everything
– You are your brand
– Visualizing a “great” website
– Creativity
– Social Media
– Support Your Website

11:30 - 12:30

Part 3. You can't be a know-it-all.

Part three is a selling session that is designed to help you really understand the age of disruption. Jim has designed this part to challenge each person to truly understand how opportunities abound in the age of disruption. As he often says, “The Sale Begins when the Customer Says No,” which is based on an out-of-print book by Elmer G. Leterman. You’ll be presented with ideas to make you think and re-evaluate your position in this age of disruption.

  • Making yourself uncomfortable
  • Undercover Boss is You
  • Role playing
    You are the sell sheet.
  • Consultative selling defined once and for all.
  • Big Ideas Come from Listening
  • Walls Are Crumbling

12:30 - 1:30

Conclusions, Questions and Networking

A Message from Jim Nowakowski

“Disruption is everywhere. It’s changing the way we think, operate, work. And for business owners, it causes massive change, sometimes overwhelming

  • A competitor comes out of nowhere and starts threatening to steal your customers.
  • Your sales staff is flanked on new business through “mysterious” influences.
  • You get to the short list, but never quite make it to the final choice.
  • You can’t seem to get the appointment with that key prospect you’ve been after.

If these situations sound familiar, you’re not alone. What’s a business to do in this day and age of disruption?

I’ve designed this half-day seminar to inspire, motivate and help you solve your biggest problem in business today: dealing with disruption. I’ve consolidated proven strategies from my career in business to help you not only manage disruption, but use it to your advantage. I look forward to meeting you.”
